Eric Church finally took home the award for CMA Entertainer of the Year last week, and it was a long time coming for both Eric and the fans, but nobody in that room looked happier than Luke Combs.
Jon Pardi was pretty pumped too, but not like Luke, who also happened to be nominated for the same award.
In the postgame press conference, Luke spoke about Eric’s influence on his career, ultimately saying that without Eric, there would be no Luke Combs.
“I was pumped to see Eric win Entertainer tonight. Without him, there is no me and I think no one has deserved anything more than he deserved that trophy tonight. As much as I would’ve loved to win, I couldn’t be more excited for him too.”
He went on to add:
“It was incredible to see him win. I was super hyped when he won. He’s a hero of mine and it was cool to sit at the table with him and it was cool to see him win an award that I feel like he’s deserved more time than one.”
When asked how he was gonna celebrate, Luke added that he was gonna have some Jack in honor of Eric and get some Cook Out with his wife Nicole.
