Taking it all the way back to 1996.

With large-scale concerts still on pause, many artists are finding themselves with an unusual amount of free time on their hands. Granted, an extended break for some family time is probably enjoyable, but by now, they’re itching to get back on the road.

Jason Aldean, who has been more than vocal about wanting to get back to touring, has found himself rifling through some old pictures, during the aforementioned free time, and he found himself one helluva throwback photo.

Just 19 years old, rocking a Ralph Lauren ballcap and that mullet flowing out the back, Jason snapped a photo with one of his musical heroes… the great Randy Owen of the band, Alabama.

“Going through some old photos this weekend at the house and came across this one. I was 19 years old in Myrtle Beach watching my favorite band of all time…  ALABAMA! Little did I know at the time that years later I would become friends with the guys that I grew up idolizing.”

Back then, Jason was playing with his band called The Young Guns, and putting some old school country tunes like “Love Ain’t Worth The Trouble” and “Cowboy Lady”

Flashforward to 2013, Jason performed “Tennessee River” with Randy for Alabama’s Alabama & Friends tribute album.
