Chris Stapleton Covers Guy Clark’s “Old Friends” And “Worry B Gone” On New Album, ‘Starting Over’

Chris Stapleton country music

Chris Stapleton dropped his 4th career studio album this past Friday, and to nobody’s surprise, it’s a stunner.

Featuring the title track “Starting Over,” and the face-melting road trip anthem, “Arkansas,” the new album also offers the longtime fan favorite “You Should Probably Leave,” the heartbreaking “Maggie’s Song,” a scathing response to the Las Vegas shooter, and a handful of covers.

Two of which were written by the songwriting legend, and one of Chris’ personal heroes, the great Guy Clark.

“Old Friends”

“Old Friends,” co-written alongside Guy’s wife Susanna, was released on Guy’s 1988 album of the same name.

“Worry B Gone”

Originally written by Guy, along with Gary Nicholson & Lee Roy Parnell, “Worry B Gone” was released on Guy’s 2006 Workbench Songs record. Since then, it’s been covered by Willie Nelson with Kenny Chesney, Hayes Carll, and now Chris Stapleton.
