It’s no secret that the music industry has taken a massive blow thanks to COVID.
And whether it’s been socially-distanced shows, drive-in shows, virtual shows, or outdoor shows… artists are trying everything they can to get back on stage and get their bands and crews back to work. But until we can find a way to safely gather large crowds (or release an effective vaccine), it’s just not gonna be the same.
Their families, their crews, their bands, venues, promoters, the list goes on… but artists have a lot of people that are relying on them to pay the bills and put food on the table. Which is why artists are so frustrated with the large crowds that have been gathering over the weekend.
Notre Dame’s upset victory over Clemson saw at least a thousand fans rush the field and the Biden/Harris victory in the 2020 Presidential Election has also seen large crowds gather as well. (Not to mention the political rallies that have been held in over the past few months).
Obviously, these aren’t sanctioned events and that’s where the difference lies, but many country artists still aren’t happy about it. Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley, Jason and Brittany Aldean, Chase Rice, and Chris Lane are just some of the artists that have voiced their frustration.
It’s also worth pointing out that Morgan Wallen was recently removed from his Saturday Night Live performance after he was filmed partying down in Tuscaloosa.
He also added that the “hypocrisy was unreal.”
