Somebody Mashed Up System Of A Down With John Denver’s “Country Roads” & It Just Works

Alright, who did this?

We’re taking it back to 2005 with a little System Of A Down, the alt-metal band that was popular in every high school weight room from 2001 to 2009.

Their 2005 anti-Iraq War protest song, B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bombs), was mashed up with the John Denver classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” and it’s just about as polar opposite as you can get.

And yet, it works. Sure, the verses are a little wacky, but the chorus… it just works. Some of those slide licks coupled with Serg Tankian’s vocals… it’s oddly soothing.

Enjoy.
