Dallas Police Keep Getting Called To House With Gruesome Halloween Decor

There are some folks that do it up BIG for Halloween…. and then there is this Texas artist who is on a whole nother level.

Steve Novak, a local artist in East Dallas, is on a first name basis with the Dallas Police Department after squads have been sent to his house on multiple occasions this Halloween. The reason why? His front yard looks like a scene out of a Rob Zombie movie.

According to the Dallas Observer, Noval says he wanted to go hyper-real:

“I’ve always been up to hijinks like flying ghosts or 7-foot tall snow sculptures of myself, so if I was gonna do Halloween, it was obvious that it should be hyperreal.

No lights, fog machine, or camp … something that would really freak people out walking by in the dark. So I whipped up some dummies and slung 20 gallons of blood all over.”

A machete through the skull, some poor soul that had his head smashed by a safe, a body in a trash bag, limbs in a wheelbarrow, and more than 20 gallons worth of blood… it was more than the neighbors could handle.

“Neighbors told me cop cars were in front of my house a lot during the day. I was only home twice to receive them. They told me they thought it was cool and that they were only there because they were required to reply to complaints from the sergeant.

Honestly, though, I think I could’ve used more… my plans were way worse on paper. Next year though.”

I mean, obviously it’s a Halloween… who really calls the police on decorations? On the other hand, if you have little kids across the street, I could see why you would absolutely hate it.

Look away if you have a weak stomach…

And here’s another house in Riverside, California, that caught the attention of the local fire department.

Not hard to see why…
