I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a person do more press about a book than we just did with Matthew McConaughey and his new memoir, Greenlights.
The guy doesn’t sleep, and by all indications, the book sounds really damn good. A ton of crazy stories have been talked about, and some incredibly deep conversations were had, such as McConaughey and Joe Rogan talking about religion.
When Matthew swung by Howard Stern he revealed he didn’t talk to his mom, Kay, for EIGHT years as he began to see his fame skyrocket.
He explains the boundaries that had to be set, but also the final straw that resulted in him having to cut her off for quite a long time. Basically, his mom invited the old show Hard Copy to the house and let them film as she explained “well, this is where Matthew lost his virginity” and such…
I know plenty of you reading this can relate to that family dynamic he explains below in terms of boundaries and parents not being able to keep anything to themselves.
