Is it 5 o’clock yet?

Luke Combs dropped the new deluxe version of is monster sophomore record today, and while the immediate fan favorite might be “Forever After All,” this is the one that I can’t get enough of.

Titled “My Kinda Folk,” it was brought to Luke’s attention by his guitar tech, who got the song started with Dan Isbell:

“‘My Kinda Folk’ is an idea that, actually, my guitar tech brought to me. He had started it with my friend Dan Isbell and sent it my way. JD is his name, Jamie Davis. Him and Dan came out here with one of my utility players, Dustin Nunley and Ray Fulcher was living down the street at that time so he walked up and the five of us finished the song and it’s probably one of my favorite songs that we’ve ever done.”

An blue collar, boot stompin’, beer drinkin’ anthem for the every day man, “My Kinda Folk” is quintessential Luke Combs.

Kinda makes you want to pop a top on a couple of cold cans at 11 in the morning, eh?
