2020 has claimed another music legend.

The guitar god, Eddie Van Halen, passed away this morning after a battle with throat cancer. He was 65.

And while he may be gone today, his legacy will undoubtedly live on through the music he made, the lives he touched, and the impact he left.

Some of country music’s own, especially the guitar pickers like Sturgill Simpson, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and more, have shared their heartfelt tributes, detailing the impact he left on their guitar playing, their music, and their careers.

Even Guy Fieri knows.

“My 1st concert… Face melted. Mind blown. Life changed. Impact is an understatement. The man single handedly altered the course of music forever.”

– Sturgill Simpson

“There are lots of great guitar players in the world, but very VERY few true innovators. Players who seem to have arrived from a far distant planet , and who bring a completely new color to the rainbow.”

– Keith Urban

“I loved everything about the fire and style he brought to the guitar. I studied him, heck everybody did, we all wanted to play just like him. But no one did it quite like him.”

– Brad Paisley
