Two Breweries Team Up For 57.8% ABV Beer, AKA The Strongest Beer In The World

A row of bottles

Holy moly.

Scottish brewer BrewDog and Germany’s Schorschbrau have officially joined forces to create the world’s strongest beer. Clocking in at a whopping 57.8% alcohol, “Strength In Numbers” is a traditional eisbock-style beer.

“Strength in Numbers is a 57.8% beer that reaches is colossal ABV through the traditional eisbock method, which means freezing the beer and removing chunks of ice (water) so that you’re left with the concentrated high ABV liquid. The beer also features a blend of BrewDog’s own Death or Glory, an ice distilled Belgian golden ale that’s been sitting in whisky casks for 10 years.”

Although, at about $40 bucks for a 40ml bottle, it’ll run you a pretty penny.

Over the years, BrewDog and Schorschbrau have gone back and forth trying to produce the world’s strongest beer, however this time around, they decided to drop the rivalry and come together to produce the limited-edition brew.

You also might recognize BrewDog for their amazing beer hotel in Columbus, Ohio.

Featuring beer fridges built right into the showers, the place is a beer drinker’s Heaven.
