Chris Stapleton’s “Watch You Burn” Is A Powerful Response To The Las Vegas Shooting

If you don’t have November 13th circled in permanent marker on your calendar right now, what are you even doing?

In a new interview with CBS This Morning, Chris dug into every from life at home during COVID, riding his bike through the woods, and of course, the new record.

And one song in particular is expected to resonate heavily with country music fans. Titled “Watch You Burn,” it’s the song you heard in Chris’ album teaser and it’s also happens to be his response to the horrifying events of the Las Vegas Route 91 shooting.

A line from the song reads:

“Only a coward would pick up a gun, and shoot up a crowd, trying to have fun.”

In the interview, Chris called it a “plea” to rid our society of evil.

“It’s a powerful number to me… it conveys a sentiment of ‘let’s cut the evil shit out.’ It’s a plea in some ways.. it’s therapeutic.”

Starting Over is due out on November 13th of this year, and if you haven’t seen the trailer yet, buckle up…
