Bud Light Is About To Launch Platinum Hard Seltzer With 8% Alcohol

A group of blue cans

I think I may have spoke too soon….

Yesterday, Bud Light announced that they would be releasing three new flavors: Grapefruit, Cranberry and Pineapple to their line of hard seltzers and while that’s all well and good, my thought is why not up the alcohol a little? You know, really do something to set yourself apart from those folks over at White Claw and Truly still splashing around in their little 5% kiddie pools.

And as it turn out, the good people a Bud Light are already working on Platinum Seltzer set to hit the market in the very near future. Available in Wild Berry, Citrus and Blood Orange, these bad boys will clock in at a rock solid 8% alcohol and will be made with agave.

“Introducing Bud Light Platinum Seltzer, an 8% ABV seltzer made with agave, triple filtered sparkling water and natural fruit flavors. This premium seltzer is made for the night. Look for it in stores in early September.”

Now that’s more like it.

In the world of hard seltzers, my purchasing decisions start at end at “which one is the strongest?” I’m simple man and that’s pretty much it. And since I’m not fuckin’ with those lunatics at Four Loko, that pretty much leaves Bud Light Platinum at the top of the pack. As long as it doesn’t taste like cat piss I suppose.

Stay tuned…
