Chris Stapleton’s Unreleased “Starting Over” Better Be On His New Album

Does anybody know what the hell Chris Stapleton is doin’ these days?

I mean, you do you Chris, but that new album is long overdue.

And according to Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, Chris’ album new album should be done by now. At the beginning of the year, Phish wanted to get in the studio with producer Vance Powell, but he was busy mixing and engineering Chris’ new record.

“In November, we went up there. It was before our fall tour, and the band was in a good place. We just played a bunch of songs. We probably played four or five other ones that were really good, but just didn’t end up on this. Vance was going to mix it, but he had another record on the schedule, so he went in to do Chris Stapleton. He basically said, ‘I’m going to be completely buried until March.’”

Busy making Chris’ record that definitely should be done by now… right?

So Chris, on behalf of the entire world…. just give it to us, give it to us now.

I’m on my last leg of this quarantine, losing my mind more and more each day, and a new Chris Stapleton is just what the doctor ordered.

But whether it’s sooner or later, hopefully this new one is on it. Earlier this year, before live music got shot to hell by Coronavirus, Chris performed this unreleased gem titled “Starting Over” at a benefit concert for Robby Turner.

“It don’t matter to me, wherever we are is where I want to be,
And honey, for once in our lives let’s take our chances and roll the dice,
I can be your lucky penny, you can be my four-leaf clover,
Starting over.”

Coming soon… hopefully.
