Willie is on the road again, and this time, he’s bringing some friends with him.

In conjunction with the ACM Lifting Lives and the 55th Annual ACM Awards, Willie Nelson has teamed up with some of country music’s rising stars to record a new version of his 1980 hit, “On The Road Again.”

The new “Lifting Lives Version” will feature Willie himself, but also feature Morgan Wallen, Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Ingrid Andress, Gabby Barrett, Jordan Davis, Russell Dickerson, Lindsay Ell, Caylee Hammack, and Tenille Townes, all of whom are nominees in the Best New Artist categories for the 55th Annual ACM Awards.

And of course, the whole project is supporting a good cause. Proceeds from the new version of this country classic will go to benefit ACM Lifting Lives COVID-19 Response Fund, which offers assistance to individuals in the Country Music community who have been negatively affected by the pandemic.

The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards will broadcast on Wednesday, September 16th.

And of course, the original version of Willie Nelson’s 1980 hit, “On The Road Again.”
