Josh Turner Honors Vern Gosdin With “I Can Tell By The Way You Dance” Cover

How great is it to have Josh Turner putting out new music again? He is exactly what country music is missing right now… you know, actual country music.

For his upcoming Country State Of Mind record, a covers/duets album, Josh is tipping his cap to some of his country music heroes, including Randy Travis, John Anderson, Johnny Cash, Vern Gosdin, Hank Williams and more.

“I’ve always said that any song you hear coming from my voice, you’re going to hear bits and pieces of those five guys… They taught me how to be Josh Turner.”

We’ve heard his new one with Chris Janson, his flawless cover of Keith Whitley’s “I’m No Stranger To The Rain,” and now, Josh has released his version of Vern Gosdin’s “I Can Tell By The Way You Dance.”

“For me, it just felt like such a timeless song, you could sing this song 50 years from now and it would still be relevant. If I had to choose the best country singer, Vern would be a contender for that spot because I’ve learned so much about singing from him.”

Country State Of Mind is set to hit shelves on August 28th.

Josh also explains why he chose to include the Vern Gosdin hit on his upcoming record in this behind the song video.
