Gotta love it.
I’ll admit that I’m not a big basketball guy. When you top out at about 5′ 10″ (so more like 5′ 9″ and half), it’s just not in the cards for you. Mix that up with a gravel driveway growing up in the rural Illinois and there was just no chance. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jordan, love Kobe, love my fellow country boy Jimmy Buckets… but overall, basketball just never struck a chord with me.
However, I am fan of chugging beers, and after this NBA bubble, I might be a fan of Meyers Leonard (also an Illinois country boy).
In the Disney Bubble, players have stared a bit of a shotgun challenge, although it was pretty much over before it started. Meyers Leonard DOMINATED.
When Meyers was asked about being the shotgun champ, he gave an incredible response.
“When they call you ‘The Hammer’ number one, number two when you come from the sticks, and number 3… people just can’t hang and that’s just all there is too it. I said it preseason when I arrived to Miami… when someone asks you what’s your hidden talent, I gotta say mine might be chugging beer. I mean, people just can’t touch me brother. It’s not close, it just isn’t. Shotguns, chugs, doesn’t matter… get ’em outta here, it’s just too easy.”
Too easy…
