Travis Tritt’s Cover Of Charlie Daniels’ “Long Haired Country Boy” IS ELECTRIC

TRITT AIN’T MESSIN’ AROUND, folks.

Back on a cold January night, I shared the following video as I went down a deep Tritt YouTube rabbit hole.

The video is about 16 years old, and shows the electric live performance Tritt always brings to the stage, this time covering “Long Haired Country Boy” by Charlie Daniels.

Travis was very close to the late, great, Charlie Daniels, who passed away recently, and has been sharing some emotional memories and photos on his Instagram…

“My heart is crushed today after hearing that my dear friend Charlie Daniels has passed away. Charlie was the first legendary artist to take me under his wing and encourage me when I was first getting started in the business. He was always there for me when I needed him. I have so many great memories of touring, performing, writing and recording with Charlie, but my favorite memories are of simply talking with the man when it was just the two of us alone. Farewell dear friend until we meet again. Thank you for being such a friend, mentor and inspiration to me. I will always be grateful. My deepest condolences go out to the Daniels family, friends and fans.”

“There are some rare individuals we bond with in life who fill a special place in our hearts that no one else can fill. Charlie Daniels was that for me. #ripcharliedaniels”

Charlie is, and will be, greatly missed.

Buckle up for this cover, people. Tritt did him PROUD.
