Tyler Childers Covering Charlie Daniels’ “Trudy” Has Always Been A Show-Stopper

It’s a sad day for music with the passing of Charlie Daniels.

Many artists remembered the legend on social media with memories, videos, photos, and stories all day long, but we wanted to look back on a cover that always stood out.

If you’re a fan of Tyler Childers, you know he’s been covering Charlie Daniels’ “Trudy” for years.

Daniels was the lone writer on the song, which he released as part of his debut album, Charlie Daniels, in 1970 (the song also found itself on the Charlie Daniels Band album, Fire on the Mountain, in 1974).

Back in 2017, Childers and the band performed an incredible cover the song at Nashville’s The Basement.

Turn this one up. Rest easy, Charlie.

Here’s one from this past December, before 2020 ruined everything.
