Florida Pizza Joint Shut Down For Having 80-Pound Iguana In The Freezer

Meanwhile in Florida…

Not exactly the Florida Man story we’ve come to know and love but hey, wherever there is Florida, there is some crazy Florida news, and this one might be troubling.

According to the Sun Sentinel, a West Palm Beach pizza joint was shut down when health inspectors found an 80-lb iguana in the freezer. 80 POUNDS! There were also other violations that included bugs, mold and rodent droppings.

Now, Pizza Mambo says the iguana was in a separate freezer and a personal gift for the owner, but still, if you’ve ever ordered the sausage at Pizza Mambo in West Palm Beach, you might have had a little more than you bargained for. They also threw the entire iguana in the garbage the second it was found to be a violation.

Of course eating iguanas is nothing new, and even considered a delicacy by some, but iguana on my pizza…. I’m not so sure about that. I mean, people can’t even agree on pineapple…

Although, pineapple iguana pizza does sound like something you could get in some parts of the world. Any takers?
