In Jon Pardi’s new “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” music video, Jon gets back to his California cowboy roots and also his love of barrel racing. Directed by Carlos Ruiz, Jon Pardi was looking to take an old fashioned country music “leaving song” and turn it on its head.
“I feel like the topic of the song hasn’t been written about in this way, and I love songs that approach things differently and offer fresh perspectives.”
Written by Brandon Kinney and Josh Thompson, the country heartbreak tune offers a up a subtle nod to the great George Strait and his 1985 hit “The Cowboy Rides Away.”
