Eric Church’s “Kill A Word” – A Much-Needed Reminder In These Difficult Times

Waking up this morning, after listening to crowds, sirens, and explosions here in Chicago all night, I found this song weighing on my mind.

In the wake of the tragic death of George Floyd, and the riots that followed, it’s never been more apparent that we need to collectively take action to make Eric Church’s “Kill A Word” a reality in this country.

Words like hate, fear, brokenness, racism, heartbreak, evil, wicked and vile, among others, need to be stamped out and forever erased from society.

And at the end of the day, it’s on all of us as individuals to take responsibility to make this world a better place. Not the government. Not the President. Not Republicans or Democrats. ALL of US.

“I’d turn ‘lies’ and ‘hate’ to ‘love’ and ‘truth’ if I, could only kill a word.”

Amen.

And we know it can be done.
