Kenny Chesney Says Fans Are “Horny” For The Return Of Live Music

If there’s a way to sum up what the Coronavirus pandemic has done to the music world, it might be this: The last show Kenny Chesney played was a wedding.

“I can’t believe I’m telling you this, but I did a wedding in Florida at the beginning of March,” said Chesney in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times. “And I don’t play weddings. But it was worth it.”

And if you’re thinking it was a family friend… it wasn’t.

“Just somebody that really wanted me to play his daughter’s wedding.”

Yep, Kenny Chesney is doing private gigs playing weddings these days, and it’s not because he needs the money, but it definitely helps when you have 120 employees to take care of. And Kenny has. All 120 of them.

But more than anything, Kenny just wants to get back on the road, and the fans want to pack those stadiums again. I keep saying summer just isn’t summer without a big Kenny Chesney show, and I think most of us can agree.

Whether or not there will be any shows this year is anyone’s guess… but one thing is for sure, the fans are… “horny for it.”

“This fall is gonna say a lot… I’ve got a lot of friends in the NFL, and I’m keeping my eyes on what they do, because it directly reflects what I do. But I’m confident we’re gonna play music somewhere. And if we get to, everybody’s gonna be… I don’t know what the word is… horny for it.”

Well, that’s one way to put it.

And speaking of horny… here’s a song called “Tip Of My Tongue.”
