Jason Isbell stopped by The Daily Show with Trevor Noah yesterday, and in addition to talking about life in quarantine and Coronavirus with Trevor, he performed a song from his upcoming album alongside his wife Amanda Shires.
The pandemic has been brutal for a number of industries, but no doubt about it, the music industry has been one of the hardest hit. Jason elaborated on how it has affected him and the industry as a whole.
“It’s going to be a lot harder for people living show to show, or paycheck to paycheck… I feel very lucky because I’ve gotten to a point where I’ve gotten a bit of a safety net, that’s not going to hold up forever, but had it been 10 years ago when I was still riding around in a van playing for a couple hundred people a night, I would have to start re-thinking career choices and making some hard decisions.”
You can watch his insightful interview in its entirety below.
He then performed “Only Children” from his upcoming album Reunions, which will be officially available on May 15th.
