Inspired by a young girl kicking rocks on the side of the road, “Hang In There Girl” is a song for anybody feeling trapped in their little town, an encouraging word from someone that’s been there too.
“After seeing a girl on the side of the road kicking the rocks at the end of her driveway, and I knew exactly how she felt. I’m proud of the way I grew up, I grew up in the middle of nowhere too, but I know how frustrating it can be when you feel like you’re trapped.”
And once again, Ashley delivered another impeccable acoustic performance.
