For The First Time Ever, People Bought More Trucks Than Cars Last Month

Something ’bout a truck, eh?

According to new data from Motor Intelligence, last month was the first time ever that sales of pickup trucks surpassed the sale of regular cars. Ever since 2014, the gap in sales between cars and trucks has been shrinking and last month was the first time trucks officially took the lead.

Which begs the question… is country music going back to truck songs?

The Bro Country era of country music have, for the most part, been replaced by the Boyfriend Country era right now and I for one think it sucks. Don’t get me wrong, they both suck, but I don’t mind the occasional song about trucks and beer if it vaguely sounds like something that’s country music. These R&B pop songs are just not for me.

Of course, I’m kidding… more people buying trucks doesn’t actually beg the question at all, and no, we’re not going to see country music revert back to the truck songs of the old days.

But if there ever was a truck song that was pretty damn good, it was this one.
