Chris Stapleton and Kings Of Leon Cover “Simple Man” In Bad*ss Throwback Performance

Lots of “Simple Man” news going around lately, and why shouldn’t it? It’s an absolute iconic song from Lynyrd Skynyrd’s debut album.

We saw a throwback video from way back in Luke Combs’ college days, him blowing the roof off of his local bar. And then more recently, Morgan Wallen gave an impromptu performance on Instagram, with a big ol’ dip in. Fans were loving that one as well.

But that reminded me of another performance. One from the great Chris Stapleton. But this time, Chris had some help.

It’s New Year’s Eve 2016 and Kings Of Leon are headlining their hometown of Nashville’s New Year’s Eve celebration. The night featured performances from Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini and others, but when Chris returned to the stage to join Kings of Leon, the crowd of 150,000 erupted.

The fantastic vocalists, one incredible song… “Simple Man” has been done a million times and will be done a million more, but you might not see a cover as good as this one. At least not anytime soon.

Either way, it’s one helluva throwback.
