We know Willie Nelson has been celebrating all month long, but for many of you out there, today is a special day.
And, it’s quarantine approved.
There’s really nothing special about marijuana songs in country music anymore, in fact, they’ve become quite common.
Sure, Waylon, Willie and Cash were singing about it years and years ago, and even Toby Keith’s 2003 song “Weed With Willie” couldn’t be more obvious, but when Church dropped “Smoke A Little Smoke” as a single in 2010, it felt like he just dropped a bomb on mainstream country radio.
At a time when Josh Turner was burning up the charts with “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” and Miranda was singing about her childhood home, this was a complete 180 in the opposite direction.
And people LOVED it.
To this day, it’s still an absolute jam and an all-time favorite among Eric Church fans.
