Eric Church & Chris Stapleton Covering “The Weight” Is The Best Thing You’ll See Today

Diggin’ back into the vault.

With quarantine bringing the entire world to a standstill, forcing both music fans, and the artists that they love, to stay indoors, we pretty much have nothing better to do than sit at home, look up old concert footage and drink copious amounts of booze. It ain’t much, but it’s all we have.

And today, I stumbled upon this old performance of “The Weight” by Chris Stapleton and Eric Church. Originally released in 1968 by the Canadian-American rock band The Band, “The Weight” went on to become one of the biggest rock hits of all time, covered by everybody from Waylon Jennings and John Denver to the Black Crowes, Mumford & Sons and more.

And while Eric mixes his setlist up quite a bit, it’s become relatively common to hear it from him. And back in 2015, alongside the great Chris Stapleton, Eric gave the fans in Bozeman, Montana, a performance they’ll never forget.

But not only do we have Chris and Eric, two of the best in the business, but we have the always impressive Joanna Cotten, and Morgane Stapleton ripping it up on stage as well.

If you’re having a shitty day, a shitty week, or let’s face it, a shitty year (most of us)… this should help.
