We lost another legend today.

The great John Prine has lost his battle with Coronavirus.

According to the Rolling Stone, John Prine, one of the greatest songwriters our world has ever known, has passed away today at the age of 73.

Over a week ago, it was announced that John was in the hospital, in critical condition, battling symptoms of Coronavirus. He was placed on a ventilator in the ICU, and has been there ever since.

If there was a Mount Rushmore of American country songwriters, John Prine surely deserves a place on it. His inspiration and influence are second to none.

We have a bar here in Old Town, Chicago, a bar that I go to for lunch all the time, and there’s a newspaper clipping on the wall right next to my favorite booth of John Prine. I wish I could go sit in that booth right now and have a cold one in his honor.

RIP John, you’re a legend.
