With today being both Merle Haggard’s birthday, and the 4-year anniversary of his death, it got me thinking about this old Eric Church classic.
“Pledge Allegiance To The Hag.”
A cut from Church’s debut album Sinners Like Me,” the song has continued to be a fan favorite, even after all of these years.
But rather than just posting the song, or a kickass live version, I dug deep into the Eric Church archives and found this hidden gem from well over 10 years ago.
I don’t know exactly when this was in relation to when he put out the record, but it’s pretty damn close.
So today, tip your hat and raise a glass today to the great Merle Haggard.
