It feels like the collective country music community has been holding their breath since yesterday afternoon.

Shortly after news broke that Joe Diffie had passed away as result of complications from Coronavirus, Fiona Prine announced that John was suffering from Coronavirus symptoms and that “his situation was critical.”

However today, it seems like we may have some good news.

In a tweet, Fiona updated the status of both her and John, saying that while she had recovered, his condition has been upgraded to “stable.”

“I have recovered from Covid-19. We are humbled by the outpouring of love for me and John and our precious family. He is stabile. Please continue to send your amazing Love and prayers. Sing his songs. Stay home and wash hands. John loves you. I love you.”

Sturgill Simpson, who recently made his return to Instagram, also shared an emotional photo of him and John this afternoon.

The caption read:

“Praying so hard for this guy right now…my heart hurts its so full of love for him. There are many masters but he is our Yoda. The world is such a far better place because of his heart, spirit, and calming wisdom.”

Get well soon John. Country music, music in general, and pretty much the whole world needs you. Keep on fighting.
