Is Joe Exotic’s “Here Kitty Kitty” The Most Underrated Country Murder Ballad Of All Time?

I finally dove into the popular Netflix docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness last night, and holy hell this show is INSANE.

You got lions and tigers, murder for hire, zookeeper wars, polygamy, Cuban drug lords, missing limbs, cult-like behavior… if I told you these were real people living in America, you wouldn’t even believe me. The list of eccentric storylines goes on for days, but you know what else you have here?

The most underrated murder ballad in country music history.

Joe Exotic had himself a little bit of a country music career. Arguably his biggest hit was a song called “Here Kitty Kitty,” written in 2015 after Carole Baskin’s (rival tiger owner) husband mysteriously went missing.

To this day, the Tiger King still swears that she killed him and fed him to the tigers, Carole says he lip-synced the song, the beef continues on and the rest is history. But lip-synced or not, it’s damn jam sandwich. A murder ballad banger. He even hired an actress that looked just like Carole for the music video.

For real though, with Coronavirus trying to tear the entire world apart right now, the Tiger King Joe Exotic is bringing us all back together.

“I Saw A Tiger” is another one that’ll get you in the feels.
