Coronavirus get us all on lockdown, which means Netflix is earning every penny I give them this month. And while flipping through the selection last night, I stumbled across Country Strong starring Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow. My wife had never seen it, (How? I know right…) and even though we ultimately didn’t end up watching anything, it got me thinking about some of the other great (or not so great) country music classics.
Enter Pure Country.
The 1992 country drama starring George Strait was ultimately a box office flop, but if nothing else, it showed us how damn good King George looked with a beard and a pony tail.
It also delivered us this iconic ending scene where George performs “I Cross My Heart” winning back the heart of Harley Tucker.
