Man Celebrates 67th Anniversary Outside Wife’s Nursing Home Window To Protect Her From Coronavirus

This is the kind of news we need right now.

As of Saturday, Bob and Nancy Shellard have been married for 67 years.

But thanks to Coronavirus, Bob wasn’t able to visit Nancy in her nursing home due to their newly enforced no visitors policy. With people over 60 being the most at-risk for contracting the virus, it’s no surprise that the nursing home would be on total lockdown.

But that didn’t stop Bob from showing up outside of her window with a sign that read: “I’ve loved you for 67 years and I still do. Happy Anniversary.”

Nurses relayed messages between them and Nancy blew him kisses through the window.

This is #GOALS people.

Bob here isn’t going to let a little thing like Coronavirus stand between him and his lovely bride celebrating 67 years together. 67 YEARS! I’m going to have to live to nearly 100 to make it 67 years with my wife… and if I do, I sure as hell won’t be able to make a handmade sign and stand outside of her window like John Cusack in Say Anything. I’ll be the one in the nursing home… staring out the wrong window.

According to WTNH, the family said Nancy felt like a queen.

Takes notes guys. You want a long and happy marriage? Make sure she still feels like a queen 67 years later.

Coronavirus be damned.
