If you remember back to last year, a Willie Nelson tribute concert was held in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena… January 12th, 2019, to be exact. A lot of famous faces were there. Stapleton performed “Whiskey River,” Sturgill Simpson performed “Red Headed Rounder,” the sheer amount of starpower on that stage that night would’ve been enough to light up the entire city of Nashville.
And now, that very same concert special is finally coming to your television.
Titled Willie Nelson: American Outlaw, the concert special is set to air on April 12th on A&E. The two-hour special will feature performances from George Strait, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Kris Kristofferson, Emmylou Harris, Jimmy Buffett, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Dave Matthews, Margo Price, Jack Johnson, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Norah Jones, Jamey Johnson and more.
Some of the biggest stars in country music, all coming together to honor one of the best to ever play the game.
