When it comes to traditional country music in the mainstream, Jon Pardi is leading the pack, and not to mention, actually having success doing it. Fresh off his latest number one single, “Heartache Medication,” Jon will be sending “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” to country radio as his next single.
‘Ain’t Always The Cowboy’ is about a girl who has her own dreams to chase and ain’t ready to settle down and the cowboy ain’t mad about it. It’s kind of a shout out to all the girls out there chasing their dreams.”
Written by Brandon Kinney and Josh Thompson, the new single offers a up a subtle nod to the great George Strait and his 1984 hit “The Cowboy Rides Away.” The Cowboy Rides Away was also the name of Strait’s farewell tour back in 2013-2014.
