Post Malone Talks Going Country, Covering Shania Twain: “I Would Love To, It Sounds Like A Good Time”

Post Malone = BIG country guy.

We all know how much he loves him some Shania (who doesn’t?), he can rock a Nudie suit like nobody’s business, and we’ve all seen him sing some country tunes with Dwight Yoakam, but would Post ever consider a country project of his own?

The answer is yes, and according to an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, he already has dabbled in the studio with some country stuff. As a fan of “old-school Nudie suits and Hank Sr.-type country music,” a country record isn’t out of the question.

I don’t see why I wouldn’t mess around and mash something together, and just have fun with it. I make a bunch of different songs, some of which that will never come out, just for fun. I’ve made some country songs, some rock songs… you never know whenever I might get some inspiration and just say, ‘Hey, let’s put this out now.'”

And if he’s looking for a good place to start, he might just put out a cover of Shania’s “Man! I Feel Like A Woman.”

I would love to! I don’t see why not. I think it sounds like a good time. I’d pick up the band and do a nice big cover with it. I want a whole horn section and everything, like a 30-piece band, and we’ll just rock out.”

I’m not mad at it.

In addition to Post’s Bud Light Super Bowl commercials this year, he (as Post Limon) was also recently featured in a Doritos for the new Flamin’ Hot Limon flavor.
