The Hummer is back, and this time, with WAY better gas mileage.
According a report from the Wall Street Journal, GM plans to resurrect the model as an electric pickup truck under their GMC label. Set for release sometime in early 2022, the Hummer pickup is also expected to make its debut in a new Super Bowl commercial starring LeBron James.
Hummer was always a love it or hate type of vehicle and while it was pretty popular in the early 2000s, the dogshit gas mileage made it the enemy of many environmentalists. However with the new model, it looks like GM found an easy remedy for that: make it electric. And then you throw LeBron into the mix, another love him or hate him type, and you seem to have a match made in heaven.
We’ll have to wait and see what it’s going to end up looking like, but I don’t hate the idea. Would I buy one? Hell no, But do I hate the guy that wants one? Nah.
