We knew it was bad, but did we know it was THIS bad? I don’t think so…
As we turn the corner into 2020, Billboard wanted to take the opportunity to remind us all just how bad things really got in the past 10 years. They recently released their “Top Country Songs of the Decade” list (based on Hot Country Chart performance) and needless to say, country music fans are PISSED. And they have every right to be.
Florida Georgia Line, Dan + Shay, Sam Hunt, Kane Brown… wait, you said “country” right? Not to mention, there wasn’t a single solo female country artist anywhere in top 30, and only 4 on the entire list. Miranda Lambert’s “House That Built Me” led the way at #38.
Is this some kind of sick joke? Is this some kind of nightmare than I can just can’t wake up from? Unfortunately, it’s not.
This is the current state of country music.
The fans let them hear it in the comments section.
This makes me so sad.

And, of course, we had some great GIF work.
