Gotta love dumb kids, right?
According to Fox 10, an Arizona teen had to be rescued from a chimney after her and a friend came home to find the house completely locked up. Without a way in, 17-year-old Yasmeen and her friend took a page out of Santa Claus’ book and tried to go down the chimney. Only problem was the chimney didn’t have an opening into the house.
Duh…
“I didn’t know it was blocked in the bottom,” said Yasmeen. “I never thought it was blocked on the bottom, so she went down and she started freaking out. I don’t know what we were thinking.”
Once she was finally rescued by the Phoenix Fire Department, the friend emerged all smiles, completely covered in soot. And of course, Yasmeen’s parents were PISSED.
“They were so mad. Like, REALLY mad.”
On the one hand, you have to laugh at them for being incredibly stupid. On the other, you have to hand it to them for putting their heads together and in an act of fearless stupidity, actually climbing down the chimney. I did some stupid shit as a teenager, but I probably wouldn’t have had the stones to actually climb down the chimney, even if I thought that it would work. And then she climbs out of there with that shit-eatin’ grin on her face like “whoops.” Kids these days…
