White Claw Is Adding Three New Flavors Next Year And Watermelon Is One Of Them

Watermelon and summer, they go together like… well, White Claw and summer.

White Claw was undoubtedly the undisputed champ of Summer 2019. But White Claw isn’t one to sit idly by while competitors try to steal a chunk of their nearly 60% market share next summer. With Bud Light launching their new hard seltzer next year, and a dozen of other new competitors like Truly, Smirnoff, Natty Light, Bon & Viv, PBR Stronger Selzter, and the 12% ABV coma in a can known as Four Loko Seltzer all in the mix, White Claw is looking to step up their game and keep the buzz alive.

How might you ask? New flavors.

Three new flavors, Watermelon (I’m intrigued), Lemon (eh, lime was probably fine) and Tangerine (who cares), are set to be released sometime next year. And while three new flavors might sound like some serious growth, I wouldn’t expect too many more.

“I think one of the things that’s drawn people to White Claw is the simplicity,” says Sanjiv Gajiwala, the company’s senior vice president of marketing. “A lot of the other seltzer brands have 12, 13, 14 flavors. We have six. It makes it a lot easier to choose.”

Of course, in the meantime, you can enjoy their limited-edition, seasonal Pumpkin Spice flavor to hold you over until next summer.

‘Tis the season…
