I cannot express how great it is to hear Evan Felker’s voice again.
Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan Felker just released a new track titled “Whiskey In Your Water,” a cut from Bruce Robison’s The Next Waltz Vol. 2 compilation album featuring Flatland Cavalry, William Clark Green, Carson McHone, and others.
Featuring accompanying vocals from Carrie Rodriguez, “Whiskey In Your Water” is the first we’ve heard from Felker since Turnpike Troubadours announced their indefinite hiatus back in May, however, the new song was recorded before then.
“I proposed that we come up with a song to do and had been pitching things at him for a while,” says Robison according to Rolling Stone Country. “When he sent me the chorus of ‘Whiskey in Your Water,’ I knew it was the one we should do with Carrie. He was still writing lyrics to the moment we cut the song. It’s just magic — they should do an entire record together.”
The Next Waltz Volume 2 drops on November 29th.
