FINALLY.
The Popeyes chicken sandwich shook the universe when it made its debut back in August, so much so that it sold out in just a few short weeks. Completely gone. No more sandwiches at any single location. People were literally rioting outside of select Popeyes locations, police were called, and I’m pretty sure somebody even pulled a gun on the clerk over a chicken sandwich. It was complete anarchy. Honestly, I don’t know if I’ve even seen anything like it.
However today, Popeyes has announced that the chicken sandwich is officially back, and this time, they’ve learned from their previous mistakes.
“The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich was launched in August as a permanent addition to our menu,” a Popeyes spokesperson, tells Thrillist. “We sold through our inventory due to unprecedented demand, so the product was temporarily unavailable, but now we’re excited to say it’s back for good. We’ve learned from this experience and are looking forward to serving the Chicken Sandwich to our guests again.”
This Sunday, (take that Chick-fil-A) November 3rd, make sure to stop by your local Popeyes and get your hands on one before they sell out again. Although, you might want to start lining up at 9am if you want to be back home by kickoff.
