If you thought “Raise ‘Em Up” would be the first, and last, Keith Urban/Eric Church collaboration, you thought wrong.
Penned by Eric Church himself, along with Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde, “We Were” is (presumably) the lead single from Keith’s upcoming album. And like many songs written by Eric, it song immediately spoke to Urban the first time he heard it.
“When I first heard “We Were” I not only heard it, but I saw it. It made me feel something. The imagery is so strong – a stamp on the back of a hand, a Saturday night cover band, the girlfriend (or boyfriend) we ran with, and a fake ID (which of course I never had). So many of us can relate or will likely relate at some point! I like the idea that life just happens and at some point, whether in the moment or not, you just gotta go with it.”
Keith released an acoustic remix of the hit song back in August, however tomorrow, Keith will once again be teaming up with Eric Church for a “We Were” duet.
