Sam Hunt Finally Teases New Single “Kinfolks”

The wait is finally over.

Ever since “Body Like A Back Road” exploded in February of 2017, and the short-lived “Downtown’s Dead” was released in the spring of 2018, fans have been wondering what in the hell Sam Hunt has been up to.

Sam wiped his Instagram clean last week, giving fans the clue that something was coming soon, and that day has finally come. Titled “Kinfolks,” Sam teased the new single this morning on Instagram, with the full release coming tomorrow evening.

When I think of ‘kinfolks,’ when I think of that phrase, I think of my family, but also I think of my people back home – beyond family. It’s my buddies who’ve been a part of my story from the beginning. I’ve made a lot of new friends and met a lot of new people who are important to me since I’ve moved away, but that core group is still my core group. It’s like that old saying, ‘you can’t make old friends.’”

For folks hoping that he would lean more towards traditional country, it doesn’t appear to be the case. On the other hand, those of you who were worried that Sam would steer even further into the pop world, fear not. “Kinfolks” is quintessential Sam Hunt.

Whiskey Riff is the most entertaining country site…ever.
