I knew I would love this song when I saw the title and the writers behind it.
Then you hear it, and it’s even better than you expect. The whole “blame it on whiskey” concept can become redundant, but this somehow feels fresh. That’s a credit to the writers on “Don’t Blame It On Whiskey” – Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Michael Heeney, and Luke Laird.
Pardi and Alaina are the perfect pairing here, and Jon makes this song his own. There’s a tempo and delivery to this song that does feel like an Eric Church ballad, which is always a good great thing.
Jon Pardi‘s new album, Heartache Medication, is even better than California Sunrise if you ask me. Pardi is a superstar carrying the torch for traditional country in the mainstream, and this record takes him to the next level.
