We’re at an utter loss for words…

Texas country singer Kylie Rae Harris tragically died in a car accident last night, near Taos, New Mexico.

According to Taos News, a San Cristóbal teenager and a Texas resident (Harris) died in a three vehicle crash on State Road 522 Wednesday night. The driver of the third vehicle was uninjured in the crash. According to Sergeant Jason Rael of the Taos County Sheriff’s Office, alcohol is suspected as being a factor in the crash. Kylie was to play Michael Hearne’s Big Barn Dance Music Festival in Taos, New Mexico, today.

According to Texas Music Pickers, Kylie’s team has released the following statement:

We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night. We have no further details to share, and ask for privacy for her family at this time. Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music. The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you.”

She was an absolute shining star in the Texas country music scene, a gifted singer/songwriter, a fashion designer, and a wonderful mother to a six-year-old little girl named Corbie.

Yesterday, she shared a tearful Instagram story about her childhood memories of driving to Taos, where many family members have lived, many of whom have passed away as well. We also just spoke to Kylie ourselves yesterday morning regarding some new music and collaborating on some other projects together. It absolutely breaks our hearts to hear this devastating news today.

Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends. RIP Kylie, you will be greatly missed.
