Welp, it was only a matter of time before we heard from Kane Brown after not getting nominated for a CMA Award this year… again.
Just like last year, the CMA Awards release their nominees, Kane Brown doesn’t get nominated, Kane Brown posts some type of sarcastic GIF or “what do I gotta do” type thing, yada yada… wash, rinse, repeat.
Truth is, the CMA Awards are over it. One look at the New Artist of the Year category and you can see that country music is finally starting to move in a different direction, one for the better. What do Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Midland, Carly Pearce, and even Morgan Wallen all have in common? They lean far more traditional than Kane Brown, or artists like Brett Young, Old Dominion and Kelsea Ballerini who were nominated in years past. In fact, the past two winners were Jon Pardi & Luke Combs, two of the more traditional-leaning artists on country radio.
I assume this tweet will get deleted, and when it does, Kane will tweet something thanking the fans for the support and we’ll all move on, but here’s a tip for the future… maybe don’t complain about it every year and see what happens. Maybe give that a whirl and the voters might change their minds.
