This is the kind of stuff I want to start seeing again from Thomas Rhett.
I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of Thomas Rhett. Sure, he’s got some good songs, but for every “Beer With Jesus” there’s a “Look What God Gave Her” that leaves me hitting the skip button.
However, this past weekend just outside of Birmingham, Alabama, Thomas Rhett debuted a brand new song he just wrote, one that’s giving me hope that we’re going to get “Beer With Jesus” Thomas Rhett back. The new song is called “To the Guys That Date My Girls,” and it’s both a heartfelt tribute to his daughters and a stern warning to the guys who date them.
As a father to two daughters already with another on the way, you can tell this one is personal to Thomas Rhett, so don’t be surprised to see it on an album in the future. And judging by the crowd’s reaction, don’t be surprised if it’s a huge hit.
