Jon “football guy” Gruden… what a legend.
In the latest episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks, Coach Gruden delivered a bone-chilling speech on crushing your opponents dreams, instantly inspiring every football fan in America to walk into work Wednesday morning ready to kick ass and take names. I mean, if this doesn’t fire you up, nothing will.
Everybody right now has dreams don’t they guys? Everybody has a dream about making it in the NFL, I got a dream of winning the Super Bowl, I got a dream of being in the pro bowl… I’m really not into dreams anymore, I’m into fucking nightmares, you with me on that? You gotta end somebody’s dream, you gotta take their jobs, you gotta take their heart, are you guys clear about this NFL shit right now? We’re not trying to go to the Peach Bowl, we’re not trying to go to the Gator Bowl, or the Blue Bonnet Bowl, we’re trying to go to the Super Bowl. To do that, you really got to try and end somebody’s dream, so get into that.”
A fucking legend.
However, Gruden’s pump-up speech pales in comparison to Brad Paisley’s “go win some this year” speech.
“Go win some this year… I’m rooting for ya, go out there and go get ’em.”
